Amnesty International visits Honduras to assess human rights situation

An Amnesty International delegation will be travelling to Honduras between 24 November and 4 December to assess the human rights situation in the context of the political crisis facing the Central American nation.

The delegation will be meeting with a wide range of individuals including local human rights organizations, journalists, and prosecutors to discuss and document the state of human rights in the run-up to the general elections, scheduled for 29 November.

The organization will also seek to meet relevant authorities.

Amnesty International’s delegation will be made up by Javier Zuniga, Special Advisor to the Secretary General; Esther Major, Researcher on Central America and June Holmes, Campaigner on Central America.

Amnistía Internacional visita Honduras para evaluar la situación de Derechos Humanos

Una delegación de Amnistía Internacional viajará a Honduras desde el 24 de noviembre y hasta el 4 de diciembre, para evaluar la situación de los Derechos Humanos en el contexto de la crisis política que enfrenta la nación centroamericana.

La delegación se reunirá con una amplia gama de personas, incluidos organizaciones locales de Derechos Humanos, periodistas, y fiscales, para examinar y documentar el estado de los Derechos Humanos en el período previo a las elecciones generales, previstas para el 29 de noviembre.

La organización también tratará de reunirse con las autoridades pertinentes.

La delegación de Amnistía Internacional estará compuesta por Javier Zúñiga, Asesor Especial del Secretario General; Esther Major, Investigadora en América Central y June Holmes, activista en América Central.
